Lagg Distillery Featured on The Scotsman's Scran Podcast

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming The Scotsman’s Rosalind Erskine to Lagg as part of her foodie tour around the Isle of Arran - and we’re thrilled to be featured on her Scran podcast!

Rosalind kicked off her trip right here at Lagg, where our very own Fred Baumgärtner, Brand Home Ambassador, showed her around our home. With views out to Ailsa Craig and an ultra-modern design that’s a little unexpected in the world of Scotch whisky, we're all about offering a new way to see whisky - and we think that came through loud and clear.

She then sat down with Fred and Distillery Manager, Graham Omand, for a chat about what makes our peated single malts so distinctive, how we’re inspired by the rich whisky-making history of the south end of Arran, and what’s on the horizon for Lagg.

From our stillhouse, Rosalind made her way to Bellevue Farm, where she met our friend and neighbour Donald Currie - a sixth-generation farmer who we’ve proudly collaborated with - as well as the rest of the team bringing hands-on farming life to visitors from near and far.

And of course, no Arran adventure would be complete without something sweet. Her final stop was James of Arran, the island’s much-loved chocolate maker, where James McChlerey shared a behind-the-scenes peek into this delicious local gem.
