LAGG IS DISTILLERY OF THE YEAR!

We, the team at Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran, are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded 'Distillery of the Year' and 'Excellence in Branding' at the prestigious Scottish Whisky awards 2023. 

Our sister distillery Lochranza Distillery, which produces Arran Single Malt, achieved the Gold award in the 'Best Under 12 non peated' category for the Arran Single Malt 10 Year Old.

The Scottish Whisky awards represent an independent program dedicated to honoring whisky distilling in Scotland. As the only drinks competition worldwide exclusively devoted to the Scotch whisky business, it is now in its fifth annual competition. An independent judging panel, composed of professionals from Scotland, the UK, and beyond, evaluated entries in both taste and business competitions.

We recently launched the second edition of our core range Single Malts - The LAGG Single Malt Corriecravie Edition. This follows the tremendous success of our flagship Single Malt - The Kilmory Edition, which was introduced in June of this year. Having opened our doors in 2019, just before the pandemic hit, are immensely proud of these achievements.

We are incredibly proud of the success of both of our Core Range Single Malts, which launched this year, and this is the perfect celebration to end 2023. Lagg Distillery is the sister of independently owned Lochranza Distillery, established at the north end of the island in 1995, producing Arran Single Malt. The construction of the new distillery and its magnificent visitor center was completed in 2019, where we opened our doors for the first time to customers and award nominations alike. The architects have designed a spectacular building that echoes the contours of Arran as you would see it from Ailsa Craig, celebrating the unique geography of the surrounding environment with dramatic roofs covered by a sedum blanket of seasonal plants.

We offer a fantastic range of tastings, tours, and dining options for visitors and locals alike at Lagg Distillery, as well as our gift shop where you can purchase the new LAGG Single Malts and a range of our exclusive whiskies. The whisky bar on the upper level in the Visitor Experience is the perfect place for all of us to relax and take in the panoramic views with whisky flights, chocolate pairings, and delicious grazing boards.
